Zahara Jolie-Pitt made a clear stand when she graduated from college.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s 21-year-old daughter graduated from Spelman College over the weekend, and appeared to take a swipe at her estranged relationship with her dad while doing so.
While taking the stage to accept her diploma, she was announced as “Zahara Marley Jolie” – noticeably dropping “Pitt” from her name.
She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the college, which is based in Atlanta.
It’s not the first time she’s dropped the name Pitt at a public event.
In 2023, when Zahara joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, she proudly declared herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie.”
A video that was shared from the sorority induction ceremony showed her shouting it while shaking her hair and doing some moves.

At the time social media users pointed out that one of her brothers had also dropped the name Pitt years prior.
According to US Weekly in 2021, Maddox “doesn’t use Pitt as his last name on documents that aren’t legal and instead uses Jolie.
An insider told the outlet, “Maddox wants to legally change his last name to Jolie, which Angelina has said she doesn’t support.”
Vivienne, their youngest daughter, also appeared to make a similar move in 2024 while working alongside her mum on the Broadway adaption of The Outsiders.
At the time, her name was listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in the show’s Playbill.
Shiloh also made things official by removing Pitt from her last name on her 18th birthday.
At the time the teen “hired her own lawyer and paid for it herself,” according to Entertainment Tonight in June 2024.
Brad and Angelina share six children together, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.
She adopted Maddox from Cambodia in 2002, followed by Zahara three years later. Brad legally adopted the pair in December 2005.
In 2007 Angelina adopted Pax from Vietnam when he was three years old, and Brad went on to adopt him a year later.
The former couple started dating in 2005, but didn’t tie the knot until 2014.
They welcomed Shiloh in 2006, followed by twins Knox and Vivienne in 2008.
Since their 2016 divorce, all of the children have reportedly distanced themselves from their father.
Last Summer there were reports from US Weekly that Brad had a “strained” relationship with his estranged kids, despite “several efforts to reconnect”.
