Sabrina Carpenter has reportedly filed for a restraining order against a man she described as a “complete stranger” after a series of alleged incidents at her Los Angeles home

The 27-year-old singer and actress – whose chart-topping hits Espresso, Please Please Please and Taste propelled her Grammy-winning album Short n’ Sweet to global success – is said to have sought legal protection against William Applegate, 31, according to court documents.

The filing, reported by TMZ, alleges Applegate repeatedly appeared at Sabrina’s home uninvited over the course of several days in May.

The development comes as Sabrina continues to dominate headlines following the success of her Short n’ Sweet era, her arena tour and recent attention surrounding her album Man’s Best Friend and single Manchild, which earned multiple Grammy nominations.

In a declaration included in the filing, Sabrina’s team said: “It was clear to (her) that his approach was deliberate, calculated and aggressive, which is deeply alarming.”

TMZ reported Sabrina’s legal staff filed a petition for a restraining order on Friday (29.05.26.)

According to the filing, Applegate allegedly arrived at the performer’s Los Angeles residence on 23 May without invitation or notice before law enforcement officers attended the scene and arrested him.

The filing alleges Applegate returned to the property less than 24 hours later.

He is said to have left after being confronted by security staff.

According to the documents, Applegate allegedly returned again on 25 May, apparently prompting another police response.

Photographs showing a man standing at Sabrina’s front door were also reportedly included in the court filing.

Sabrina said in her declaration: “William Applegate is a complete stranger to me. I have never met him or communicated with him in any way. I have no desire to meet him or communicate with him.”

The former Disney Channel star, who first found fame on Girl Meets World before establishing herself as one of pop music’s biggest names, requested a temporary restraining order also cover her sister, Sarah Carpenter, and Sarah’s boyfriend, George.

TMZ reported the request was granted, with Sabrina, Sarah and George all receiving temporary protection under the order.

A hearing has been scheduled for later this month to determine whether the temporary restraining order should be made permanent, according to the outlet.
