Ne-Yo got candid while showing love to the mothers of his children on Mother’s Day.
The singer shared a lengthy message on Instagram thanking the women in his life and admitted that co-parenting has come with ups and downs over the years.
“To the mothers of my beautiful children. 1st and foremost THANK YOU for the blessings you have bestowed upon me,” he wrote. “My children are my reason, my light and my life.”
Ne-Yo continued, “Situation and circumstance won’t always be what we want it to. But love concurs all. And our love for these children is stronger than anything else, it’s all that truly matters.”
The R&B singer also admitted that there have been disagreements over the years but said family continues to come first.
“We won’t always see eye to eye, we won’t always get along. But we will always be family,” he wrote. “And I will forever love you all.”
He closed the message by thanking the ladies for their sacrifices and support.
“THANK YOU for being the village, making the sacrifices, dealing with my BS on occasion,” he added. “But above all thank you for loving our children the way you do. I GOT YOU. NOW AND FOREVR. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY.”
Ne-Yo shares seven children with four women. He welcomed daughter Madilyn Grace and son Mason Evan with Shaw ; sons Shaffer Chimere Jr. and Roman Alexander and daughter Isabella with ex-wife Crystal Renay; and two children with ex-girlfriend Sade Jenea Bagnerise.
Monyetta Shaw responded in the comments and reflected on their blended family dynamic.
“Awww Thank you for this! I truly appreciate the love and acknowledgment,” she wrote. “No matter what, the kiddos will ALWAYS come first.”
She continued, “The pure happiness that they have… especially when they are all together makes me smile so big every time!!! We are truly blessed!”
His other ex, Sade, also commented on the post, writing, “Thanks for all you do.”
