GRAMMY-nominated breakout artist SOMBR has released his latest single, “My Body Isn’t Ready,” alongside an official music video directed by Gus Black. The track arrives via Warner Records and marks another deeply personal chapter for the 20-year-old singer-songwriter, who continues to build momentum following the success of his breakthrough debut album I BARELY KNOW HER.
Written and co-produced entirely by SOMBR, “My Body Isn’t Ready” confronts themes of body image, self-worth and the struggle to feel comfortable in one’s own skin. Rather than shying away from insecurity, the song embraces it with striking honesty, pairing intimate storytelling with the emotional songwriting that has become the artist’s signature.
“‘My Body Isn’t Ready’ finds me at my most vulnerable. It’s about confronting the parts of yourself that you wish you could change, and learning to sit with those feelings instead of hiding from them,” SOMBR shared.
The release kicks off a busy week for the New York native. Tonight, he will make his debut as both the musical and interview guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he is set to perform the new single.
Fans can also expect the announcement of a surprise free New York City concert tomorrow before SOMBR launches his North American You Are The Reason Arena Tour on July 22. The run will feature support on select dates from Interpol, The Last Dinner Party, Tom Odell, Dove Cameron, Balu Brigada, King Princess, The Hellp, and Hannah Jadagu.
