In the past week, regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Australian tour, I actually believe that most of the “royal sources say this and that” stories are coming from Buckingham Palace, not Kensington Palace. It’s King Charles and his courtiers who have been trying to flood the zone with lines of attack, and they’re the ones trying to force the press to lie and say that the tour wasn’t successful, that Meghan’s OneOff app crossed a line, that blah blah blah. Prince William and Kate’s team has been suspiciously quiet, either that or they’ve gotten better at covering their tracks and making it look like the attacks are coming from Buckingham Palace. Well, then this story happened and it looks like KP has awoken from their spring-break slumber. Apparently, Robert Irwin REFUSED to meet with the Duchess of Sussex during the Australian visit. You see, Robert Irwin is a monarchist and he’s one of Prince William’s “celebrity friends.” There’s no evidence whatsoever that Meghan (and specifically ONLY Meghan) tried to get in touch with the Irwins, btw.
Meghan Markle was reportedly left disappointed after the Irwin family opted not to meet her and Prince Harry during their current Australian tour.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, had reportedly hoped to catch up with celebrity conservationist Robert Irwin, 22, and his family at Australia Zoo in Queensland.
‘Aligning with the Irwins’ worthy causes is something that Meghan and Harry could be on board with,’ an insider tells this week’s New Idea magazine.
However, the meeting did not go ahead, with New Idea reporting the Irwins politely declined the invitation due to their strong ties as monarchists.
‘They meant no ill-will towards the Sussexes, but at the end of the day they are all staunch monarchists and fiercely loyal to The Firm,’ an insider told the publication.
They added that Robert was particularly close to Harry’s brother William, and an ambassador for his Earthshot Prize, and didn’t want to upset the Prince of Wales by appearing to side with Meghan.
‘It just wasn’t possible,’ a source added.
Remember when Prince William “appeared” on the US version of Dancing with the Stars, with William sending a video message to Robert Irwin? William’s video was horrible – he had food in his teeth and he looked like he was in a prison cell. Anyway, I have no doubt that Robert Irwin has been told that he can never, ever acknowledge Harry and Meghan whatsoever, or else William will throw a tantrum. I just doubt that Meghan (and only Meghan??) asked for a meeting with Irwin. Like, that’s not what the Sussexes’ tour was even about, and Harry & Meghan don’t need to sidle up to random Aussie celebrities just to get attention. Please. Try again, incandescent egg!
