We all know Quinta Brunson as Janine Teagues, the enthusiastic school teacher on Abbott Elementary who’ll do just about anything to support her students… but did you know Quinta’s stepping up in real life too? Yes, the beloved actor and comedian has announced the launch of a new fund to send public school students on field trips for free!
The Quinta Brunson Field Trip Fund was announced on December 2 (Giving Tuesday) and will provide more than 117,000 kids in Philadelphia with the opportunity to go to museums, landmarks, zoos and have other out-of-classroom experiences.
“Field trips were some of the most memorable parts of my own education growing up in Philadelphia,” she said in a statement.
“They opened my world, sparked my creativity and helped me imagine a future beyond what I saw every day. Going somewhere new shows you that the world is bigger and more exciting than you believe, and it can shape what you come to see as achievable.”
Quinta posted about the fund in her Instagram stories and announced that she’d be kicking it off with a personal donation of $20,000.

“I’m proud to support Philadelphia students with experiences that remind them their dreams are valid and their futures are bright,” her statement ended.
According to the National Education Association, kids who go on field trips tend to earn better grades and have a higher chance of finishing high school and college.
Quinta has also donated $25,000 to the school district’s Groceries for Good program which helps students facing food insecurity.
I mean… could we love her any more?
