It’s the fashion industry’s night of nights, and some of our beloved Aussie stars didn’t disappoint at the Met Gala 2026.
From Margot Robbie, to Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, all dressed to the nines as they embodied the ‘Costume Art’ theme of this year’s event.
Below, nine.com.au takes a look at the Aussie stars on the Met Gala red carpet this year:
Margot Robbie
Wuthering Heights star Robbie, 35, is a Chanel ambassador and stunned in a pale gold gown from the fashion house, which according to Vogue took 761 hours to make.
The strapless gown, which featured a layered back and train, also was made from almost 1,100 embroidered pieces.
Robbie, who recently dyed her signature bright blonde locks, swept her dark blonde hair into an elegant high bun and teamed the look with a soft golden tan and delicate chandelier earrings.

Miranda Kerr
Aussie supermodel Miranda Kerr, 43, who became Australia’s first and only Victoria’s Secret Angel, stunned in a white Dior creation.
Her frock featured small embellishments, a halterneck design and a layered, peplum skirt.
Kerr pulled her dark locks back and off her face and attended the event with her husband Evan Spiegel, the co-founder and CEO of Snap Inc, being the ultimate date night at the Met Gala.
Nicole Kidman and Sunday Rose
Sunday Rose made her big Met Gala debut this year, attending the coveted event alongside her Aussie actress mother, Nicole Kidman.
The 17-year-old model, who has modelled for the likes of Dior and watch brand Omega, looked incredibly fashionable on the industry’s night of nights wearing a lilac Dior creation by Jonathan Anderson.
Nicole meanwhile, who is co-chair of the gala this year, turned heads in a red gown by Chanel.
Nicole’s gown featured a sequinned design, with a long train and red feathers on the wrists.
Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster
Aussie star Hugh Jackman, 57, and partner Sutton Foster, 51, made their Met Gala red carpet debut at the event.
The pair put on a cosy display and couldn’t wipe the smile off their faces as they posed for photographs on the Met steps.

Troye Sivan
Aussie hitmaker Troye Sivan, 30, caught the eye wearing jeans on the Met Gala steps.
While many have criticised the look for not feeling dressed up enough for the Met Gala, it was a bold fashion statement to make.
