The Phoenix Mercury stunned the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx in Game 2 of their semifinal series by coming back from a 20-point deficit to win in overtime and even the matchup at 1-1. Alyssa Thomas led the way with 19 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists, and Sami Whitcomb stepped up with 13 points and six assists off the bench, including the game-tying 3-pointer in the closing seconds of regulation. Now, the action will shift to Phoenix for a pivotal Game 3 on Friday night.
This is the second consecutive season that the Lynx and Mercury are meeting in the postseason and the eighth time ever. The Lynx, who swept the Mercury in the first round last season, are 6-1 in their previous seven playoff series against their rivals.

This has been a fascinating series. Both teams have had stretches where they’ve looked completely dominant and others where they’ve looked completely lost.
