Footballer Leandro Trossard and his wife Laura Hilven have split.
In a lengthy statement on her Instagram Story, Hilven confirmed she and the Belgian athlete, who plays for Arsenal, have been separated “for some time now”.
The pair married back in June 2019 and shared two kids.
Trossard and Hilven aren’t featured on each other’s social media pages, and their wedding photos have reportedly been scrubbed from their respective accounts.
“With deep love, care, and respect for one another, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to separate amicably,” Hilven’s statement read.
“This was not a choice made lightly. In fact we have been separated for quite some time now, and during that period we have taken the space and time needed to navigate this privately and thoughtfully.

“Our decision comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire to create the healthiest and happiest future for everyone involved.
“Most importantly, we are and always will be devoted parents to our two beautiful children.
“We kindly ask for compassion, understanding, and privacy during this deeply personal transition. With love, Laura.”
The pair had been together since around 2014 but married in 2019.

”I can’t picture my life with anyone other than YOU!” she reportedly wrote when they announced their engagement.
In October, Hilven celebrated her 33rd birthday and said she was “surrounded” by love.
“Turning 33 surrounded by love. From Belgium to the UK — you’ve all made this place feel like my second home. 💫💕.”
However, the pair still appear to be supportive of each other, and still follow each other on Instagram.
The footballer shared a series of pictures on Instagram from a recent game, captioned: “No words needed <3.”
Underneath the public post, his ex Hilven commented: “You deserved this! Never doubt, make that dream come true [clap and prayer emoji].”
