More information is coming to light about Kyle Busch’s tragic passing.
On May 20, the day before he died at age 41, the NASCAR driver was testing in the Chevrolet racing simulator in Concord, North Carolina, when he passed out, several people familiar with the situation told the Associated Press.
Busch became, unresponsive and was quickly transported to a hospital in Charlotte, the AP reported. His cause of death has not been shared.
Just over a week before his death, Busch had requested that a doctor attend to him after his race at Watkins Glen International on May 10.
“Can somebody try to find Bill Heisel? He’s the kindred doctor guy,” Busch was heard saying in a radio transmission shared on X by FOX: NASCAR. “Tell him I need him after the race, please.”
Busch—who was dealing with a sinus cold during the race—added, “I’m gonna need a shot,” though the nature of the injection was not shared.
Nearly two weeks later, Busch’s family shared a concerning update on his health.
