An A-list actor has been forced to cancel his US leg of his music tour due to “poor ticket sales.”
Kiefer Sutherland took to Instagram to announce that the US leg of his tour, which included shows in Nashville, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, has been cancelled.
Sutherland had 14 shows in total scheduled in the US from June to July.
“With great disappointment, I am going to have to cancel the US leg of my tour due to very low ticket sales,” the statement posted to Instagram reads.
“I don’t think it’s fair to the people who have bought tickets, or the venues, to play half-empty houses.”
“I look forward to touring the United States again at a more suitable time. I hope you understand.”
He signed off with ”Sincerely, Kiefer Sutherland” before adding, “Refunds will be available from the point of purchase.”

Sutherland has just finished a successful European tour and is set to hit stages in the UK from this weekend.
The US-born actor is not the only artist to be hit hard by the recent “blue-dot fever.”
The term refers to a recent lack in ticket sales for artists in the US, with a blue dot on a venue map meaning the seat is free to purchase.

Sutherland is just the most recent artist to cancel due to a lack of ticket sales. Everyone from Post Malone to Meghan Trainor has been hit by the problem.
Just two weeks ago, The Pussycat Dolls cancelled all but one of their upcoming shows in the US.
The group revealed that they had taken an “honest look” at their upcoming North American run and decided that only a scheduled performance at OUTLOUD Music Festival would go ahead.
“When we announced the PCD FOREVER Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world,” the Pussycat Dolls’ statement read.
“After taking an honest look at the North American run, we’ve made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates.”
The group reassured OUTLOUD attendees that their headlining performance would not be cancelled, saying they ”could not think of a more meaningful place to celebrate with our fans.”
Another US pop singer, Meghan Trainor, also recently cancelled her upcoming US tour, citing difficulties of balancing work and being a new mum.
“After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour,” she wrote in a social media statement.
“Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time.”
She continued, writing: “This is the right decision for my family and me right now.”
“I promise I’ll be back soon, and I can’t wait for you to hear this new record. I’m so proud of it, and I’m endlessly grateful for your love and support always.”
Rocker Post Malone also announced he was cancelling the first three weeks of his US tour, saying he needs to finish working on the album before heading on stage.

“I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts,” he shared in a statement.
“We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done.”
“That being said, I’m so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few cancelled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y’all.”
