Jackie ‘O’ Henderson makes surprise appearance amid legal battle

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has made her first public appearance since embarking on a legal battle against her former employer, The Australian Radio Network.

Henderson appeared on stage at the Her Best Life retreat, which featured special guests like the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, and Dr Justine Corry.

While fans suspected she would make an appearance during the talk with Meghan, she was absent.

She later appeared to introduce Corry at the start of her seminar.

The Her Best Life Instagram page posted pictures of Henderson on stage as she introduced the doctor.

“Jackie coming down to support Gemma and introduce the incredible @drjustinecorry ahead of her powerful session this morning,” the caption of the post reads.

It marks the first appearance for Henderson since she filed a legal suit against ARN for terminating her contract.

In her suit, she is claiming compensation of at least $82.25 million and alleging that her termination was against the Fair Work Act.

In a notice to shareholders, ARN said it disputed Jackie “O” Henderson’s claims and will defend against the suit in court.

Her suit followed shortly after Henderson’s long-time colleague, Kyle Sandilands, launched his own lawsuit against ARN after his contract was terminated.

The duo, who dominated Sydney radio ratings for years, saw their audience fall in a much-touted move to Melbourne more recently.

Both of their contracts were ultimately torn up and the show was cancelled. In its statement to shareholders, ARN said Henderson also accused the company of making “misleading and deceptive” market statements, a claim ARN also denies.

The proceedings have been filed in the Federal Court, where Sandilands’ own lawsuit against his former employer was first heard last Friday.

Sandilands revealed his contract had been terminated on March 18, less than an hour before ARN Media confirmed the news in a market announcement published on the Australian Stock Exchange.

“ARN Media advises that it has issued a notice of termination of contract to Mr Kyle Sandilands and Quasar Media Services Pty Ltd,” the statement said.

“As a result, the Kyle and Jackie O show will no longer be presented.”

Sandilands said he had apologised to Henderson the night after the on-air argument but claimed ARN had used the rift to “burn the place down”.
