Helen Mirren Tom Hard MobLand Feud: Oscar winner speaks out following co-star reports

Dame Helen Mirren, 80, has spoken out amid rumours that her MobLand co-star Tom Hardy, 48, was fired because of tension on set.

But it appears there’s no bad blood, at least between Mirren and Hardy, after the Oscar-winning actress shared a photo of Hardy on her Instagram account with the text reading: “Love you now and always, Helen.”

Mirren’s post comes after a slew of reports of Hardy feuding with co-stars, showing up late to set, rewriting scripts and disrespecting producers.

Crime series MobLand, which stars Mirren, Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Guy Ritchie, tells the story of a warring London crime family.

Despite it’s success on ParamountPlus, the show has been riddled with controversy with Puck initially reporting Hardy had been let go by production after the completion of season two, which is yet to air.

A statement published by THR claimed that Hardy “refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time”.

However, according to Variety, Hard was “not fired” and “the door is not closed for season three and things are being worked through creatively”.

A Variety source also claimed that Mirren had become “frustrated” by Hardy’s alleged tardiness.

“I know she’s said to him a couple of times, ‘Come on, Tom, we’ve been here for ages, let’s get on with it,’ but she’s never appeared to be anti-Tom,” the source told the outlet.

There’s clearly no animosity between the co-stars with Mirren coming out in support of Hardy more than once.

In December 2025, Mirren posted another picture of Hardy.

This time the text read: “Things I love: 1. Christmas for obvious reasons. 2. Tom Hardy for his brilliance onscreen, his dedication off screen his good heart and especially the HardyHugs I get when onset with him which is not nearly enough in my opinion.”

In the same post, Mirren went on to cheekily list the things she “hate” including root vegetables and bad journalism.
