Full cast announced for High School Musical revival

Calling all Wildcats! The full cast for the upcoming revival of High School Musical, which will be taking place in Salford and London, has been announced.

Back in March, it was confirmed that Tobias Turley (Mamma Mia!) and Leonor Correia (Six) would be leading the cast as Troy and Gabriella, alongside Caitlin Tipping and Luke Bayer, who are currently starring in Titanique the Musical, as brother and sister duo Sharpay and Ryan.

It was later revealed that 80s icon Jason Donovan will be taking on the role of Coach Bolton for the Lowry, Manchester run, while McFly drummer Harry Judd will be taking the reins for the London leg. If that wasn’t exciting enough, original High School Musical legend Kaycee Stroh (best known as pop’n’lock queen Martha) will be playing Ms Darbus across both locations.

Now, the full group of Wildcats has finally been unveiled. Joining the team will be Char Burnett as Taylor McKessie, Jordan Benjamin as Chad Danforth, Simeon Beckett as Zeke Baylor, Olivia O’Connor as Martha Cox, Yna Tresvalles as Kelsi Nielson, and curtis Patrick as Jack Scott.

The cast is completed by Alexander Black, Eleanor Bye, Harriet Caplan-Dean, Alison Driver, Conor Luke Drury, Mary Francis, Sonia Gil-Lubeiro, Tamsin January, Joseph Lennox, Lucas Morlotti, Katie Mulligan, André Phipps, Meg Silsby, Kade Stenson, Ethan Vijn and Eddie Zickerman.

The High School Musical revival marks 20 years since the film’s original release and will be the first UK non-replica production of the Disney Channel original movie. High School Musical features a book by David Simpatico with music adapted, arranged and produced by Bryan Louiselle. The production will be co-directed by Hope Mill founders Joseph Houston and William Whelton.

The creative team also includes choreography by Aaron Renfree, set design by Andrew Exeter, sound design by Matt Peploe, video design by George Reeve, lighting design by Rory Beaton, costume design by Sophia Pardon, musical supervision by Katy Richardson, musical direction by Audra Cramer, casting by Pearson Casting, production management by Ammonite Studios, and general management by Chris Harper Productions.

High School Musical opens at The Lowry Theatre, Salford on August 22, running until September 19. It will then transfer to London’s Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre from October 12, with performances running until January 3, 2027.

Both theatres are being reconfigured for the performances to create the ultimate East High experience. This will include an immersive basketball court setting, and on-stage seating. Fans can expect to hear all the classics from the original movie including ‘We’re All In This Together’, ‘Breaking Free’, and ‘Stick To The Status Quo’.
