David Leitch Movie Gets 2027 Release Date

Jason Statham‘s forthcoming action-comedy feature is preparing to ride into theaters.

Black Bear announced Thursday that director David Leitch‘s movie Jason Statham Stole My Bike is set for theatrical release in North America on Aug. 6, 2027. Plot details have not yet been disclosed for the project that began principal photography this week.

Statham stars in the film with a role that is described as reminiscent of the one he played as a CIA field agent opposite Melissa McCarthy in 2015’s Spy. The project continues Statham’s relationship with Black Bear that includes Guy Ritchie’s Viva La Madness, which recently wrapped production and also stars Ben Foster, Jason Isaacs and Camila Mendes.

Leitch, whose directorial credits include The Fall Guy and the forthcoming How to Rob a Bank, helms Jason Statham Stole My Bike from a script by Alison Flierl, with the story credited to Flierl and Scott Chernoff. Producers include Leitch and Kelly McCormick for 87North, Statham for Punch Palace Productions, John Friedberg for Black Bear, and Meredith Berg and Ethan Erwin for Beryllium Entertainment. Fifth Season and Tango are executive producing.

The features hitting theaters this summer from Black Bear include the Matthew McConaughey-led The Rivals of Amziah King and the comedy Spa Weekend that stars Leslie Mann and Isla Fisher.

Statham has such forthcoming films as Lionsgate’s crime thriller Mutiny, heading to theaters in August, and Amazon MGM Studios’ The Beekeeper 2, which is dated for early 2027. The actor’s films have surpassed a combined $8 billion at the global box office and span such franchises as The Meg and Fast & Furious.
