“Rest in peace legend 😢,” commented one follower on a Darrell Sheets fan page.

“You will be missed in the community and the rest of the world,” said another while a third wrote: “Praying for your son and family ❤️❤️.”

Sheet’s son Brandon, also known as ‘The Sidebet’, often joined his dad the hit reality series before becoming an auction regular.

The show follows professional buyers who bid on abandoned or unpaid storage lockers without knowing the exact contents inside.

Who'd have thunk it – a reality TV show might have been staged! A former cast member of reality series Storage Wars sued, claiming he was fired after he complained about the shows fakeness – including paying for one contestant to get plastic surgery to increase her sex appeal.
Buyers would compete in making the most profit from various storage auctions.

The buyers are given five minutes to inspect the contents strictly from outside the locker, without touching, before the locker is auctioned off.

The winning bidders would then reveal the contents inside the lockers and estimate the total worth of the items against how much they paid.

Sheets was hospitalised in 2019 after suffering a mild heart attack. He retired to Arizona where he opened and ran an antique shop called Havasu Show Me Your Junk.

Despite retiring, Sheets made guest appearances in Storage Wars up until 2023.
