The phone rang in Denzel Boston’s living room, and he shushed his partying family. He opened the FaceTime call, and it was the Cleveland Browns. Boston’s wait was finally over.
The phone was passed to Cleveland general manager Andrew Berry, and after congratulating Boston, he told him to do one thing. He said, “I need you to be a bully. You’re 6’4, 215. You’re strong, you’ve got great hands. I need you to bring some Bully Ball to Cleveland.”

If this doesn’t get Cleveland fans fired up, I’m not sure what will. I don’t subscribe to the notion that Andrew Berry is just an analytics nerd type, but the truth is, this does feel like one of the first times that he has sounded like a football guy. Saying that Cleveland needs some bully ball is not only 100 percent correct, it is also refreshing to hear that is how he approached the wide receiver room.
What Boston brings to the Browns
When you look at the play styles of both the new Cleveland wide receivers, their play styles have a little bit of Jarvis Landry in them. From their college tape, they both attack the football; they both want to absolutely kill the opponent, and they don’t settle for anything less.

For Boston, he actually said it. In his post-draft conference call, he told the Cleveland media that any defensive back he goes against, he wants them to be miserable when they go home to their family. That is some true football guy stuff from a player who absolutely loves to compete.
The challenge is now here for Boston. He is going to join this roster with a big responsibility of being one of the guys who has to turn the entire offense around. If he, along with his wide receiver partner KC Concepcion, can become a 1-2 punch, they have the tools to be a really formidable force in this league.
Combined, the two were amazing in their final seasons in college football. In 2025, they combined for 123 catches for 1,800 yards and 20 total touchdowns. The immediate infusion of talent at the wide receiver position is exactly what the lethargic Cleveland offense needs.
Now, the work begins, and it is ultimately up to them to reach the standard. That standard doesn’t stop at touchdowns and yards; it stops at dominating the opponent and bringing bully ball to Cleveland.
