Indian action star Ajay Devgn is returning to the precinct he knows best.
The actor will lead Chauhaan, a feature from director Neeraj Yadav and production houses Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions. A theatrical release date of October 1, 2027 has been slated.
You can see a first look at Devgn above in a teaser trailer to announce the movie, which the makers say is set in a “gritty and action-packed world.” No further plot details right now, but in the teaser we protestors in Jammu and Kashmir city Pulwama lining up to take on army guards, with Devgn, face covered by a skull bandana, staring them down as they rush towards the authorities.
Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L Rai, and Himanshu Sharma are producing.
The announcement came on the anniversary of the birthday of Devgn’s father Veeru Devgan, a celebrated Hindi cinema’ stunt choreographer who passed away in 2019.
Devgn is best known internationally for starring in Indian box office smash RRR, which came from S.S. Rajamouli. He has also starred in pics such as Drishyam, Drishyam 2 and Maidaan.
This week, Priyanka Chopra Jonas told an audience about Rajamouli’s upcoming 2027 feature Varanasi, while a separate Deadline story noted the director had flown into the Annecy International Film Festival for an update on animated movie Baahubali: The Eternal War, on which he is a producer.
