‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Will Debut in Early 2027

After three-plus years wandering the galaxy, Ahsoka has a (rough) return date on Disney+.

The second season of the Star Wars series is set to premiere in early 2027, star Rosario Dawson announced Tuesday at Disney’s upfront presentation. She also introduced a behind-the-scenes reel showcasing some of the making of season two.

Ahsoka premiered in August 2023 and drew solid viewing figures for Disney+, making Nielsen’s top 10 original streaming series every week it debuted new episodes. A second season went into development in early 2024, but between then and now, Lucasfilm scaled back its live-action Star Wars series projects. In the past 18 months, the kid-focused Skeleton Crew and the second and final season of Andor have been the only live-action shows from a galaxy far, far away. Star Wars‘ animation output has been more robust, most recently with Maul — Shadow Lord.

Hayden Christensen is set to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in season two, and Game of Thrones alum Rory McCann will take over the role of Baylan Skoll; Ray Stevenson, who played the character in season one, died in May 2023 after completing filming.

More to come.
