Three-time GRAMMY-winning sensation Bad Bunny is taking his Puerto Rican beats to the Super Bowl!
Apple Music announced the superstar would be performing during the halftime show for the 2026 event at Levi’s Stadium.
In a statement confirming the news, Bad Bunny said, “What I’m feeling foes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL!” (“Go and tell your grandma we’re going to the Super Bowl Halftime Show!”)
And he’s right. This is huge, not only for his people, but for all of the U.S.
Not only was his selection announced in a manner honouring his Puerto Rican heritage ( he’s sitting on a football goalpost at sunset on a beach in Puerto Rico, wearing a pava hat!) but he’s expected to perform solely in Spanish – a first for the NFL’s big game. And at a time when Latinos are being targeted heavily by ICE agents under instruction from the Trump administration, having Bad Bunny take to the stage is definitely a statement.

JAY-Z, who plays a significant role in selecting who takes the stage during the halftime shows, said, “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honoured to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”
The NFL’s Jon Barker also shared a message: “Bad Bunny represents the global energy and cultural vibrancy that define today’s music scene. As one of the most influential and streamed artists in the world, his unique ability to bridge genres, languages, and audiences makes him an exciting and natural choice to take the Super Bowl Halftime stage. We know his dynamic performances, creative vision and deep connection with fans will deliver the kind of unforgettable experience we’ve come to expect from this iconic cultural moment.”
The Super Bowl LX is happening on February 8, 2026.
