Angie Kent has shared the devastating news that her dad has died.
The reality star has been sharing her journey towards solo motherhood on social media, but posted the heartbreaking update that as her embryos were arriving in Brisbane, her dad was going into palliative care.
On Saturday, she said her dad had died, alongside an emotional reflection on their final days together.
“On Tuesday the 28th of April, I found out my embryos were finally on their way from Sydney to Brisbane. The moment I’d been waiting for. The next chapter for me and my family,” she started the post.
“That same day, I was told there was nothing left they could do. Dad was going into palliative care. That timing really messed with my head. Something so beautiful was finally coming, and something so beautiful was being taken away.
“Two days later, on Thursday the 30th of April, I watched my dad take his final breath.
“My dream of starting my own family with my Mumma and Pappa right by my side… it feels like it’s been ripped out from under me.”

Kent explained her dad was so excited with the prospect of becoming a ‘pop’, and shared that his nickname was going to be “Moppy”.
“I was planning on moving back to my family home, where Dad and I were going to renovate the garage, his man cave, into an apartment for me while I was a new mum on my own and so they could be right there,” she continued.
“Our chance to recreate a new and healthy version of our family after years of suffering. To do it differently. Break patterns and generational cycles. Together.”
Kent, who starred on the Nine series Space Invaders, said her dad had been diagnosed with blood cancer, writing, “F–k all cancer. What a cruel, brutal way to lose someone you love.”
“I love you Papa Markos. Please visit me in my dreams. Never ever stop sending me your weird, and most probably cooked, little signs that you’re always with us. I’ll be looking for them everywhere,” the post continued.
“You can rest now my strong battler of a Dad. No more pain.
“I’ll love you and will hold your hand forever and ever and ever.”
She shared the emotional message alongside of herself holding her dad’s hand in hospital, while they both held a purple flower.
The former Bachelorette has been sharing updates on her dad’s health, while also navigating her journey towards solo motherhood.
In late December 2025, she opened about about her decision to undergo IVF solo
“This path has never felt like a Plan B for me. It feels intentional and deeply aligned. Has done since I can remember,” she shared in another post shared in early January.
Kent has been open about the process and for standing up for not only herself, but other women who are looking at their own journey to becoming a single mother by choice, despite the backlash and criticism.
But in April her plans were put on hold after her dad’s health declined.
In a post online she explained that she had to hit pause when her dad’s health went downhill and he ended up in the ICU.
“Butttttt my dream of having a baby isn’t waiting around for the perfect timing. That simply does not exist. Not in my world anyway,” she wrote.
“As life continues to throw absolute spanners in the works…I’m still going ahead as planned. Just needed a minute.”
