Ed Sheeran has debuted a new look, revealing he has shaved his head and given an update on his health online.
The 35-year-old singer unveiled the dramatic new look alongside a photo dump on Instagram and explained the haircut was because he wanted to “signify a fresh start”.
The Thinking Out Loud hitmaker added that there are also a lot of “new beginnings” in his life right now, which he wanted to signify with the buzz cut.
The pictures shared with this 48.7 million followers included recent developments in his life, but the first snap was of the freshly buzzed hair.
Elsewhere in the caption the Lego House singer shared an update on his health, revealing he’s been battling with shingles for weeks.
“I’ve had shingles for the last month, wouldn’t recommend it, but on the mend now,” he added in part.
According to Health Direct, Shingles is a viral infection that causes a painful, blistering rash. Shingles is caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus, which is the same virus that causes chickenpox.

Sheeran finished the caption with his excitement to be heading back on tour.
“Restarting the loop tour in a week and a bit, cant wait to get back cracking on that, see you lovely people there,” he added.
The buzz cut was the big talking point in the comments with fans loving the new look.
Plenty of flame emojis were dropped in the comments.
“We’re so here for buzz cut Ed!!! 🩷 can’t wait for Latin America,” replied one fan.

During the upcoming Loop tour dates he’ll be performing across Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Mexico and Chile, with the first show in Santo Domingo on May 9.
Sheeran took a break from touring after his shows in Australia and New Zealand, which wrapped up in Adelaide on March 5.
