A new generation is about to fall in love with the Ingalls family – Netflix has dropped a first-look at the new Little House on the Prairie series, and it’s delighting fans around the world!
It comes 50 years after the 1974 series first captured global audiences and almost 100 years after the publication of the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

The Cast of the New ‘Little House on the Prairie’:
Alice Halsey, known for her role in Lessons in Chemistry, will play lead, Laura Ingalls, a strong-willed and curious child who stands up for justice and kindness.
Luke Bracey who previously appeared in Hacksaw Ridge, Elvis and Little Fires Everywhere, will play Laura’s handsome and charming “Pa”, Charles Ingalls, whilst Crosby Fitzgerald from Crime 101 and Palm Royale will play Laura’s patient and practical “Ma”, Caroline Ingalls. And Skywalker Hughes will play Laura’s older sister Mary Ingalls.
The new series adds a bunch of new and diverse characters to the screen too – Jocko Sims will play Dr. George Tann, Warren Christie is a civil war veteran named John Edwards, Meegwun Fairbrother will play farmer Mitchell, Alyssa Wapanatāk will play White Sun, farmer Mitchell’s wife, Wren Zhawenim Gotts plays Good Eagle, Mitchell and White Sun’s daughter and Xander Cole plays Little Puma, White Sun’s younger brother and Good Eagle’s uncle.
What will the new ‘Little House on the Prairie’ be about?
According to Netflix, the new Little House on the Prairie is “part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West. This fresh adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s iconic semi-autobiographical Little House books offers a kaleidoscope view of the struggle and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier.”
