Natalie Dormer has donated her entire salary from her latest project to charity.
The British star is playing Sarah Ferguson in a new ITV and BritBox drama series titled The Lady. In a statement to Variety, Natalie said she would not be taking part in promotion for the series due to a leaked email from the Duchess of York to convicted (and deceased) sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and that her pay has gone to two charities helping survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
Per Variety, part of Natalie’s statement reads:
“Since completing the project, new information has come to light that makes it impossible for me to reconcile my values with Sarah Ferguson’s behaviour, which I believe is inexcusable. For that reason, I will not be taking part in the promotion of the project. In keeping with my commitment to the well-being of children, I have donated my entire salary from the project to the National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC) and the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse (hosted by Barnardo’s).”

Her statement clarified that her position was not a reflection of her experience working with Left Bank productions.
The Duchess’ reps have not yet commented on Natalie’s position. They have previously confirmed to the BBC, her letter was sent to Epstein in order to counter a potential defamation law suit: “This email was sent in the context of advice the Duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats.”
The Lady is due to air later this year as a four-part series. It also stars Mia McKenna-Bruce, as Jane Andrews, a former royal dresser and aide to the Duchess who was later convicted of murder.
