The first trailer for the highly anticipated Freakier Friday – aka the sequel to the 2003 film Freaky Friday – has arrived and we get to see stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis swap bodies once again!
The actors have reprised their roles as mother-daughter duo Tess and Anna Coleman. This time, there are kids and grandkids involved in the body swap too!

What will Freakier Friday be about?
According to a release from Disney, “the film picks up years after Tess and Anna endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.”
The film is being directed by Nisha Ganatra who was behind 2019’s Late Night with Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling.

Who is in the Freakier Friday cast?
Disney announced in June last year that Never Have I Ever star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan would be one of a number of new cast members joining the sequel, including Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, and Manny Jacinto. Their characters are still under wraps.
Besides Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, who will play Anna and Tess, a bunch of cast members from the original 2003 film are returning too including Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.

When will Freakier Friday be released?
Freakier Friday is due to be released on August 8, 2025.
