One final PPV is upon us. UFC is closing out its 2025 calendar quickly and the final PPV event of the ESPN era goes down on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. UFC 323 is headlined by a pair of title fights in the lower weight classes. The main event sees bantamweight kind Merab Dvalishvili look to fend off his latest challenge from a familiar foe in Petr Yan.
No champion has ever even tried to defend their title four times in one year. Dvlashvili can set a new mark on Saturday if he takes out Yan a second time. They previously met in 2023 in a non-title bout where Dvalishvili set the record for most takedown attempts in a fight. “The Machine” has defeated Umar Nurmagomedov by decision, Sean O’Malley by submission and Cory Sandhagen by decision so far this year. Yan, meanwhile, has won three in a row since his loss to Dvalishvili.

A second title fight supports UFC 323. Alexandre Pantoja is building a strong case for being the second-best flyweight champion in UFC history, behind only Mount Rushmore fighter Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson. His next challenger is compelling. Joshua Van burst onto the scene, going from UFC debutant to title challenger in two years. Like Dvalishvili, he fights for the fourth time this year in pursuit of becoming a UFC champion.
