Toxic mum group drama: Mandy Moore throws support behind Hilary duff

Members of Ashley Tisdale’s so-called ‘Toxic mum group’ have rallied around Hilary Duff amid ongoing tensions.

The drama first came to light after Tisdale penned an explosive essay accusing her celebrity ex-friends of exclusionary, unkind behaviour towards her and another unnamed member.

And now Mandy Moore, who was rumoured to have been a part of the group in question, has offered a public show of solidarity with fellow member Hilary Duff.

Making an appearance at the final leg of Duff’s Small Room, Big Nerves tour, Moore and her celebrity inner circle proved that despite the fallout, their bond remains stronger than ever.

“My bud is a sensational icon queen giving us all what we needed,” Moore, 41, captioned Instagram story photo of Duff, 38, as she took the stage at The Wiltern Theatre in LA.

“You are forever a superstar, @hilaryduff!!!!” the A Walk to Remember actress added.

In one video also posted to Moore’s story, Duff’s husband Matthew Koma was seen dancing to 2025 release ‘Mature’.

Additional members of Duff’s mom group, including Gaby Dalkin and Janice Lee, were also in attendance at the show.

This latest tour of Duff’s, which completely sold out, marks the 2000s icon’s grand return to the stage.

And it appears that the star’s success has not been dimmed in the weeks following Ashley Tisdale’s bombshell essay.

Eagle-eyed fans who had followed various members of the ‘mum group’ discerned that it included 2000s icons Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff and Ashley Tisdale, along with All About that Base songstress Meghan Trainor.

The group shared sourdough starters, hosted music classes for their “pandemic babies,” and offered a rare, grounded glimpse into celebrity motherhood.

But according to Tisdale, the dynamic soured when certain members began to “ice her out” of the group.

“I thought I found my village. Instead, I was back in high school,” she said.

She began to notice she was being left out of various group activities – but could not escape the Instagram Stories and posts that showed her exactly what she was missing.

After one ill-fated dinner party where she was purposely seated away from the other women, the reality of the situation finally began to sink in.

“I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me,” Tisdale wrote.
