Steelers release defensive lineman ahead of Week 17 game vs. Browns

The Pittsburgh Steelers released a defensive lineman ahead of the Week 17 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, clearing room for WR Brandon Johnson, who signed on Wednesday.

The Steelers announced the practice squad release of defensive tackle Kyler Baugh, who signed with Pittsburgh in August.

Baugh played a solid role in helping Pittsburgh’s offseason defensive line battle multiple injuries, such as defensive tackle Dean Lowry, who tore his ACL in training camp, and defensive tackle Jacob Slade, who was waived with a knee injury in August.

Following Baugh’s release, the Steelers have just two defensive linemen on their practice squad — Anthony Goodlow and DeMarvin Leal. There are six defensive linemen on the active roster — Yahya Black, Esezi Otomewo, Keeanu Benton, Derrick Harmon, Cameron Heyward, and Logan Lee.
