The Denver Broncos will not face quarterback Joe Burrow when they host the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football in Week 4.
After suffering a toe injury on Sunday, Burrow needs to undergo surgery that will sideline him for at least three months, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Burrow left Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second quarter. Jake Browning replaced Burrow and he went 21-of-32 for 241 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions in an eventual 31-27 win.
Browning is now poised to start against the Broncos on MNF in Week 4 (Sept. 29). The 29-year-old quarterback is 4-3 as a starter in his career.
Before that MNF showdown, the Bengals will face the Minnesota Vikings on the road in Week 3 and Denver will travel to California to take on the Los Angeles Chargers. Cincinnati is currently 2-0 and the Broncos are 1-1. Their MNF clash will be televised on ABC and available to stream on FuboTV.
