Praise Kier! The Apple TV+ hit Severance has been renewed for season 3! The news comes on the heels of the second season ending and breaking records as the most-watched series on the streamer.
In a press statement, director and executive producer Ben Stiller said, “Making ‘Severance’ has been one of the most creatively exciting experiences I’ve ever been a part of. While I have no memory of this, I’m told making season three will be equally enjoyable, though any recollection of these future events will be forever and irrevocably wiped from my memory as well.”
Star and executive producer Adam Scott added he was looking forward to another season:
“I couldn’t be more excited to get back to work with Ben, Dan (Erickson), the incredible cast and crew, Apple and the whole ‘Severance’ team. Oh hey, also – not a huge deal – but if you see my innie, please don’t mention any of this to him. Thanks.”
Creator and writer Dan Erickson said, “I can’t wait to continue spreading woe, frolic, dread and malice with these truly incredible people.”

What is ‘Severance’ about?
If you’re not already totally obsessed with Severance, here’s what you’re missing: The series follows Mark Scout (played by Adam Scott) who leads a team at Lumon industries where employees have undergone a severance procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. The experiment is explored in season one as a “work-life balance” and in season 2, Mark and his friends learn there are dire consequences for tampering with the severance barrier.
Season 1 of the show received worldwide acclaim, landing 14 Emmy nominations including Outstanding Director for Ben Stiller and Outstanding Acting for Adam Scott.
When Will Season 3 of ‘Severance’ be released?
There was a three-year wait between seasons 1 and 2 but it’s unlikely we’ll have to wait that long this time around. No official release date yet, so stay tuned!
