Sarah Sherman HBO Special Sets Premiere Date

Sarah Sherman, the SNL cast member also known as Sarah Squirm, has locked in a premiere date for her debut comedy special, HBO‘s Sarah Squirm: Live + In the Flesh. Her new hour, directed by Cody Critcheloe, debuts Friday, December 12 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.

In Live + In the Flesh, Sherman rips off the straitjacket after four seasons (and counting) on Saturday Night Live, unleashing a festering and hilarious hour of bodily fluids, open-wound confessionals, and jokes that will leave scars on your soul.

The special is written and performed by Sherman, who exec produced alongside Lorne Michaels, Hilary Marx, and Taylor Segal for Broadway Video; Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush, and Josh Safdie for Central; Matthew Vaughan for Rotten Science; Dan McManus; and Jack Bensinger.

Sherman joined SNL as a featured player in October 2021, was upped to repertory in October 2023, and has now emerged as one of the show’s standout players. Previously seen in the Netflix film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah from Happy Madison and Alloy Entertainment, she’ll appear coming up in the Netflix ensemble comedy Roommates from director Chandler Levack, as well as the Untitled BriTANicK Pizza Movie at Hulu.

Coming off the September release of Caleb Hearon’s special Model Comedian, HBO has also this year put out hours from Bill Maher (Is Anyone Else Seeing This?), Brett Goldstein (The Second Best Night of Your Life), and Marc Maron (Panicked).
