“I want to know what love is / I want you to show me…”
Pretty romantic lyrics for a wedding dance, and if Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce want, they’ll be taking their first post-nuptial spin as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band that popularized the phrase plays it live.
Earlier this week, the British-American classic rock band Foreigner offered to play at the couple’s wedding, paraphrasing those lyrics from its No. 1 hit, “I Want to Know What Love Is.”
An open letter posted to the band’s social media reads as follows:
Dear Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce,
We know what love is. We spent 40 years figuring it out…and now you guys have too.
Please accept this as our formal offer to be your wedding band.
Best Wishes,
Foreigner
The supercouple could do a lot worse than Foreigner. While not the most current act, the group’s hits offer a crowd-pleasing cross section of romantic tunes and rockers, starting with the aforementioned “I Want to Know What Love Is” and “Waiting For a Girl Like You,” and proceeding through “Feels Like the First Time,” “Cold as Ice,” “Hot Blooded” and “Juke Box Hero.”
One issue, however, is the health of Foreigner’s longtime leader, Mick Jones. In 2024, Jones revealed that he had Parkinson’s disease. He has recently skipped shows or limited the number of songs he played at concerts.
