Robert Irwin is set to dust of his dancing shoes once again – well, sort of.

The 22-year-old conservationist will be taking on a major role for Dancing With The Stars – The Next Pro, which is currently filming in Queensland.

“The dancers will be living together, training together and competing week by week while viewers get to see everything happening behind the scenes.”

The source also revealed that the Wildlife Warrior was selected for the role owing to his growing popularity across the US.

“Robert has become incredibly popular with American audiences,” the source added, explaining that it was Robert himself who pitched the idea for the dance competition spin-off to producers.

International fans far and wide fell in love with Irwin throughout his highly successful Dancing with the Stars run – which culminated in he and dance partner Witney Carson taking home the coveted Mirrorball trophy.

It is believed that Carson will also have a featured role on the show in some capacity.

The pair won in “one of the tightest gaps” the show has ever seen against runner-ups Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy.

Both couples individually received more votes than anyone has ever received in the show’s history.

The conservationist headed home to Australia Zoo following the win, and has since been dedicating his energy to a number of passion projects in the pipeline.

The Crocodile Hunter’s only son spearheaded the development of “a unique overnight experience” in his honour – aptly named ‘The Crocodile Hunter Lodge’.

Opened in 2022, the lodge is nestled in native bushland just a 60-minute drive north of Brisbane.

It seems Irwin has been popping up here, there and everywhere since taking home the Mirrorball, delighting fans at Laneway Festival in Perth with a surprise on-stage appearance during Role Model’s performance of Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.

The star has also made a recent appearance on CNN podcast All There Is with Anderson Cooper, wherein he opened up about late father Steve Irwin in his rawest interview to date.

All in all, the youngest Irwin is certainly expected to remain booked and busy for the foreseeable future.
