Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker sent shockwaves through Hollywood when she revealed the decades-old rumour that she and Nicolas Cage once dated.
The actress, 60, finally confirmed the old chatter during an appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live on the weekend.
Now, Hollywood star Cage, 61, has spoken out, sharing his side of the story with E! News, claiming Parker ghosted him after he went for dinner with her and her mother.

“I cared about Sarah, but I don’t think I passed the mom (sic) test,” he said in the cheeky statement.
“I recall sitting down with her and her mother for dinner at the Russian Tea Room, and I don’t know if it was my blue Vanson Leather motorcycle jacket (which I still have) or my sinusitis, but I didn’t hear from her again.”
The pair starred together in the 1992 comedy and romance film, Honeymoon in Vegas.

During her TV appearance, Cohen asked Parker: “Did you date Nic Cage?”
“Um, yes, I did,” Parker said. “Yes, I did.”
“Oh, wow. We got some talking to do,” Cohen quipped.

It remains unclear when or how long they dated, but there’s been speculation the rumour was true for decades – yet neither confirmed or denied the claims.
The rumours first swirled when they filmed the romantic comedy, but it was seemingly short-lived as Parker soon found love with husband Matthew Broderick.

The couple, who share three children together, married in Manhattan, New York in 1997 and will soon celebrate their 30th anniversary.
Meanwhile Cage, who is part of the Coppola family, is married to wife Riko Shibata.
