Beach season is upon us in Los Angeles, as is the highly-anticipated reboot of one of the city’s most iconic shows.
On Saturday, Baywatch reboot star Stephen Amell shared Fox‘s first teaser for the upcoming series, including looks at him and co-stars Brooks Nader, Jessica Belkin and Livvy Dunne in their iconic red swimsuits.
“I dream in slow motion,” Amell captioned the brief promo.
With filming taking place through July, following a $21.1 million tax credit from the California Film Commission, Baywatch is scheduled to premiere on Fox in January.
On the rebooted Baywatch, the wild child Hobie Buchannon (Amell) from the original series is now a Baywatch captain, following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Mitch (played by David Hasselhoff in the OG series). Hobie’s world is turned upside down when Charlie (Jessica Belkin), the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy and become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad.
The series also stars Shay Mitchell as Trina, Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Noah Beck as Luke and Nader as Selene. In a recurring role, Dunne will make her acting debut as Grace. David Chokachi and Erika Eleniak will reprise their original series roles as Cody Madison and Shauni McClain.
Baywatch is co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Fremantle with Matt Nix (Burn Notice, The Gifted) serving as showrunner and executive producer. McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz are executive producers. McG directed the series premiere.
