“Rahaf is a 3-year-old double amputee who lost her legs in an airstrike. She’s absolutely adorable and the most loving, smart, playful little girl.” – Ms. Rachel.
Rachel Accurso, the beloved YouTube star better known as Ms. Rachel, is using her platform once again to speak up for children’s rights, and this time she’s sharing Rahaf’s story:
The 3-year-old was severely injured after Israeli airstrikes hit her home in Gaza in August last year. She’s since been evacuated from the region with her mum (leaving her brothers and dad behind) with the help of the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund and now has access to food, water and shelter. She’s also learning how to walk again using prosthetics.
In a post on Instagram, Ms. Rachel said she and Rahaf spent some time playing together and apparently giggling at Mr. Aron, Ms. Rachel’s husband! (You can see a video of their get together here.)
The children’s entertainer added, “We know treating children like they are being treated in Gaza isn’t right morally and ethically. We know it in our souls and hearts. It doesn’t align with the teachings of our religions. We also have so much research on brain development that shows how trauma and malnutrition during the first three years of life can have life long consequences.“

Last week Ms. Rachel also met with the family member of hostages. In a social media post, she said: “If you sat with this family member and listened-if you thought of your own precious family-there’s no way you wouldn’t feel absolute anguish and wish for nothing more than this family to be whole again. I pray every day for the release of the hostages.”
Ms. Rachel, who is a mother-of-two, says she will continue advocating for both Palestinian and Israeli children, as well as kids all over the world: “I see every child as I see my own.” She’s urging world leaders and the global community to step up too.
