Megan Thee Stallion Returns To Full House At Broadway’s ‘Moulin Rouge!’

Megan Thee Stallion was greeted by a full house when she returned to Broadway‘s Moulin Rouge! The Musical last night, two days after she took ill mid-performance and was diagnosed with, among other things, extreme exhaustion.

Deadline hears the Thursday evening performance was already headed to sell-out status even before the Broadway newcomer missed half of Tuesday’s performance and the two Wednesday shows. The appeal of witnessing the rapper-singer in her return performance merely added an extra boost over the finish line.

The star’s casting as nightclub owner Zidler sent box office soaring last week, with grosses for the week ending March 29 landing at $1,600,0037, up nearly 40% over the previous (non-Megan) week.

After she exited the Tuesday evening show mid-performance, Megan Thee Stallion was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels.

In a statement on Wednesday, she told her social media followers that “Last night was a real wake-up call for me. I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t.

“Hotties,” she continued, “I wanna be real with y’all because you mean everything to me and I hate letting yall down. I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have been. I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve. Thank you for always riding with me and loving me through everything.”

Megan hasn’t yet posted about last night’s return performance.
