La La Anthony and Carmelo Anthony are celebrating a special milestone for their son, Kiyan Anthony.
On Saturday, the proud parents marked Kiyan’s 19th birthday on Instagram with sweet tributes.
La La shared a message dedicated to her only child, calling him her “favorite person in the world” while acknowledging how emotional it feels watching him grow up and pursue his dreams.
“Happy 19th birthday to my favorite person in the world…my heart…my son @kiyananthony (can’t believe I just said 19!!! ),” she wrote.
The actress and television personality went on to reflect on the pride she feels as Kiyan’s mother, writing that being his mom has been “the greatest honor” of her life.
She also talked about the challenges of seeing children grow up and leave home for college.
“Not gonna lie… whoever decided kids should grow up, leave for college, and take half their mom’s heart with them was very wrong,” she added.
“I miss you every day, but seeing you chase your dreams makes it all worth it! Forever by your side through it all,” she wrote.
Carmelo Anthony also honored his son with a message that reflected on the young man Kiyan has grown into.
In his post, the former NBA star said he admires his son not only for his accomplishments, but also for the way he carries himself.
“I’ve watched you grow into your own mind, your own voice, your own path,” Carmelo wrote. “And what makes me proud isn’t just what you do — it’s how you think, how you carry yourself, how you treat people.”
He also included a message of advice for his son.
“Always remember this: Knowledge is the seed. But what you choose to bring into the world with it — that’s what defines your legacy. Walk with confidence, but stay humble.
Seek truth, not approval. Move with purpose, but stay calm in chaos. You don’t have to rush your greatness.Just stay grounded in what you know to be right,” he wrote.
He continued, “Because when knowledge is real… greatness will always be born from it. “Happy Knowledge Born Day, Champ.”
Kiyan, who has followed in his father’s footsteps on the basketball court, has been building his own name in the sport as a student at Syracuse University.
