Pop star Jessie J has revealed she’s been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer.
In a video on Instagram, the 34-year-old artist told fans she’s planning on having surgery soon and wanted to be open about her experience, not only to help others, but to help herself process it all.
“Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding onto the word ‘early’,” she said.
“It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much, similar and worse – that’s the bit that kills me.”
Jessie explained that she was “going to disappear” for a while after performing at the Capital’s Summertime Ball, a mini-festival in London, in order to have the surgery: “And I will come back with massive tits and more music!”

The “Price Tag’ and ‘No Secrets’ singer has been inundated with love since announcing her health news – fellow pop singer Rita Ora commented on her post, “you’re literally my favourite person and I’m praying for you. You’ve got this.” Anastacia, who is a two-time breast cancer survivor herself said “the strength it takes to share your journey will help so many others. Breast cancer is scary, yes, but your actions show it’s better to have ‘No Secrets’.” And Katy Perry added, “Love you! We are all sending healing energy to youuu… excited for the massive tits and more music.”
