Jack Osborne has announced the birth of his daughter – and revealed the special tribute in her name.
The media personality, 40, has honoured his late father Ozzy Osbourne who died in July 2025, by naming his newborn after the Black Sabbath icon.
Ozzy Matilda is Jack’s fifth child, and his second with wife Aree Gearhart.

In a joint Instagram post, the couple shared a short video of their tiny newborn next to a birth announcement disk reading “Ozzy Matilda Osbourne”, along with the date (05/03/2026), time (8:49am,) length (19 inches), and weight (7 pounds and 12 ounces) at birth.
A plush stuffed bat sits above the baby’s head in a nod to one of her late grandfather’s most infamous on-stage moments.
The musician bit the head off a real bat during a concert, mistakenly believing it was a rubber prop thrown by a fan.

Jack and Aree share another daughter, Maple Artemis, and he has three children – Pearl Clementine, Andy Rose and Minnie Theodora – with his ex-wife Lisa Stelly.
The comments section on the birth announcement was flooded within just a few hours by thousands of friends and Black Sabbath fans from all over the world.
Many revealed the children and pets they have named after the iconic frontman.
“Oh my goodness a blessing! My daughter’s middle name is Ozzy for obvious reasons,” one fan wrote.
It seems many hearts have been warmed by the sentiment of the newborn’s name.
One of many comments reads, “How beautiful! Such a special honour.”
“Your dad sent her to earth-side for you and your family, I just know she was kissed and cuddled by your dad before she made it here,” reads another.
The Black Sabbath rockstar’s death was announced just weeks after the band’s final concert in Birmingham, England, titled Back to the Beginning.
The final concert was a charity event that raised over 11 million dollars for Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
The birth of Jack’s fifth daughter comes eight months after the rock legend’s death, so he may have been aware of his 11th grandchild being on the way.
Ozzy was referred to sweetly by his grandchildren as ‘Papa.’
His second child, Kelly Osbourne, shared how her son Sidney just adored his grandfather and that he had a “really, really sweet relationship” with him.
She spoke on her son and her father’s bond, gushing, “Oh my God, they’re best friends.”
