With the changes at defensive tackle, edge rusher, cornerback, and safety, we’re taking an early stock report on the Ravens’ retooled defense.
The Baltimore Ravens are less than two weeks away from having rookies and select veterans report to the Under Armour Performance Center for the start of training camp 2025. John Harbaugh’s team is loaded on offense with arguably the best quarterback, running back, and potentially the top center in the NFL.
Zach Orr’s defense improved as the season progressed in 2024, and he’ll enter the 2025 season with a stacked defensive front, an All-Pro at linebacker, quality edge rushers, and a top-two secondary that just added Jaire Alexander via free agency and Malaki Starks via the NFL Draft.
With the training camp report date for rookies just ten days away, we’re providing an early stock report on the roster changes.
DT
Nnamdi Madubuike, Travis Jones, and the versatile Broderick Washington return, while Michael Pierce announced his retirement. The team drafted Aeneas Peebles and signed John Jenkins.

Inside Linebacker
Chris Board and Malik Harrison departed in free agency, while the team added Teddye Buchanan via the draft. Trenton Simpson spent the off-season training with Roquan Smith and should be much improved. Special-teams standout Jake Hummel signed in free agency. Former Iowa All-American linebacker Jay Higgins is an under-the-radar player to watch.

Cornerback
Brandon Stephens departed via free agency, and Baltimore initially added Chidobe Awuzie in free agency, and Bilhal Kone and Robert Longerbeam were added during the NFL draft. The most significant addition was Jaire Alexander joining the Ravens on the final day of mandatory minicamp. Baltimore will have a cornerback trio of Alexander, All-Pro Marlon Humphrey, and second-year star Nate Wiggins.
