EXCLUSIVE: UTA has signed writer-director Emma Tammi for representation in all areas.
Tammi is the filmmaker behind Five Nights at Freddy’s, the global horror hit from Universal and Blumhouse that became the highest-grossing film in Blumhouse history. Based on the video game of the same name created by Scott Cawthon, the 2023 film follows a night guard (Josh Hutcherson) who takes a job at a decrepit pizzeria akin to Chuck E. Cheese, discovering that the animatronic characters in the restaurant come to life after dark.
The film opened to $80 million domestically, despite a day-and-date streaming release with Peacock, and went on to gross nearly $300 million worldwide. Tammi directed and co-wrote the feature, and recently wrapped production on the sequel, which is slated for release in theaters on December 5.
Tammi made her feature directorial debut with the supernatural horror film The Wind, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2018 and was released by IFC Midnight. The rising filmmaker will continue to be represented by John Burnham at Atlas Artists and her attorney Andrew Howard at Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
