After making us all, minus the Team Jeremiahs, fall in love with him as Conrad Fisher in The Summer I Turned Pretty, Christopher Briney has landed a new role – he’s joining season 5 of the Emmy-winning series, Hacks.
An image released by the show gives a peek at Chris’ character, dressed in a Versace silk shirt with the buttons undone, tattoos on display, walking beside Jean Smart’s character, Deborah Vance. They’re leaning in towards each other, laughing.

That’s about all HBO Max is giving us for now. No word on who Chris’ character actually is, or when the new season, which also stars Hannah Einbinder and Megan Stalter, will be released.

Meanwhile, Chris is set to star in The Summer I Turned Pretty movie which is expected to be out sometime in 2027. (Yes, that’s right, there’s a whole movie finale coming after the series finale.)
According to Prime Video, Conrad, Jeremiah and Belly will end their story with a feature film, written and directed by The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy author Jenny Han, and co-written by Sarah Kucserka.
“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Jenny said in a press release. “I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”
The multi-generational drama has been a global phenomenon amongst teens and parents alike, shooting stars Chris Briney, Gavin Casalegno and Lola Tung to stardom. Season 3 drew 25 million viewers in its first 7 days!
