Billy Magnussen Stars In Silicon Valley Drama


UPDATED: “Genius is not about figuring out the solution. It’s about being un-hinged enough to do something outrageous with it.” So begins the official trailer for The Audacity, AMC‘s upcoming drama starring Billy Magnussen as a Silicon Valley CEO on the brink.

“Fear impedes innovation. I call that self-police brutality,’ says Magnussen’s Duncan.

Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Lucy Punch and Simon Helberg also star in the eight-episode series from Jonathan Glatzer. It premieres April 12 on AMC and AMC+.

PREVIOUS, Jan. 29: AMC has released the first trailer for its forthcoming Silicon Valley drama The Audacity, starring Billy Magnussen as a stressed-out CEO.

“Just got some news. Great news.” Magnussen’s Duncan says in the teaser. “Can’t tell you what, but it’s great.”

The eight-episode series from Jonathan Glatzer premieres Sunday, April 12 on AMC and AMC+.

PREVIOUS, Jan. 7: We’re getting the first look at AMC’s forthcoming Silicon Valley drama The Audacity from Jonathan Glatzer. The eight-episode series, starring Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Lucy Punch, Simon Helberg and more, will premiere Sunday, April 12 at 9 PM on AMC and AMC+, followed by weekly episodes each Sunday. AMC released some first-look photos, which you can see above and below.

Set inside the bubble of Silicon Valley, The Audacity takes on the warped dreams, outsized egos, and ethical lapses of the self-styled inventors of the future, per the official description. In a world of jaded billionaires, psychiatrist-gurus, bio-hacked tech bros, AI labs and disillusioned teens being optimized in elite private schools, an audacious data-mining CEO (Magnussen) strives to turn insight and influence into profit and power. The darkly comedic drama confronts reality, privacy, and the delusions fueling our ever-changing world.

In addition to Magnussen, Goldberg plays Dr. JoAnne Felder, Galifianakis is Carl Bardolph, Punch plays Lili Park-Hoffsteader, Helberg portrays Martin Phister, Corddry is Tom Ruffage, Meaghan Rath is Anushka Bhattachera-Phister, Paul Adelstein plays Dr. Gary Felder, Everett Blunck is Orson Stern, Thailey Roberge portrays Tess Phister, Ava Marie Telek is Jamison Park-Hoffsteader, with Randall Park guest starring as Gabe, the qualm-free CFO of a data mining operation.

Glatzer serves as executive producer, writer and showrunner. Gina Mingacci (Killing Eve) also executive produces. Lucy Forbes (This Is Going To Hurt, Eric) directs the pilot and the series’ second episode, Dan Sackheim directs Episodes 3 and 4, Dan Longino directs Episodes 5 and 6, while Alex Buono directs Episodes 7 and 8. 

The Audacity is produced by AMC Studios. AMC Networks holds worldwide rights to the series.
