RAYE debuts highly anticipated sophomore album This Music May Contain Hope

Four-time Grammy Award-nominated global superstar RAYE has released her highly anticipated sophomore album, This Music May Contain Hope., available now on all streaming platforms via Human Re Sources. The release follows a show-stopping performance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, where she performed her Top 10 pop radio hit “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” and presented the Pop Album of the Year award to Taylor Swift.

Speaking on the album, RAYE shares: “Music is medicine, I’ve always said that. I guess I’m in the process of making medicine for myself that I can share with the world. I want us all to say to ourselves that it’s going to be all right, and I’m going to have faith in the seeds that I’ve planted beneath the snow. I wanted to create something that is a hug, bed or soft place for that person who needs it.”

This Music May Contain Hope. is an ambitious and deeply personal opus that finds RAYE at her most fearless and emotionally expansive. Blending pop, R&B, jazz, big band, soul, and orchestral influences, the 17-track album unfolds across four “seasons,” with each side of the vinyl representing a different chapter in a sonic journey that moves from darkness to light. It transforms heartbreak, self-doubt, and personal turmoil into a cinematic exploration of resilience and renewal, balancing moments of darkness with an undercurrent of defiant optimism.

The album features the UK number one, RIAA Platinum-certified hit “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” alongside previously released singles including soaring ballad “Nightingale Lane.” and “Click Clack Symphony.,” the latter created with Hans Zimmer and accompanied by a cinematic music video directed by Dave Meyers. Additional contributions come from Al Green, the London Symphony Orchestra, Flames Collective Choir, and RAYE’s sisters Amma and Absolutely, with co-production from Mike Sabath, Tom Richards, Chris Hill, Pete Clements, Jordan Riley, and Punctual.

RAYE has spent the past two months lighting up arenas across Europe and the UK on her 51-date THIS TOUR MAY CONTAIN NEW MUSIC run, joined by her sisters Amma and Absolutely, including six nights at London’s The O2. Next week she heads to North America for a fully sold-out run, with performances at Radio City Music Hall on 15th and 16th April and the Greek Theatre on 12th and 13th May. She will also join Bruno Mars as a special guest on The Romantic Tour this summer, appearing on 26 stadium dates across North America.

Since 2014, RAYE has charted 20 Top 40 UK singles and surpassed 10 billion cumulative streams. In 2024, she made history by winning six BRIT Awards including Album of the Year, the most ever won in a single year, alongside an Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year and the Ivors Academy’s special Songwriter Advocate Award. Most recently, she was honoured with the Recording Academy’s Harry Belafonte Best Song For Social Change CEO Merit Award for “Ice Cream Man.”, which amplifies the voices of sexual assault survivors.
