Olympic gold medallist Matty Lee MBE is stepping into a new arena – trading aquatic acrobats for a microphone and open conversation. The retired British diver has announced the launch of his debut podcast, The After-Dive, marking a fresh chapter following his departure from competitive sport in 2025.
Best known for clinching gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics alongside Tom Daley, Lee became a household name not just for his athletic precision, but for his openness about the pressures of elite performance. Now, he’s channeling that candour into a format built for long-form conversation and unfiltered storytelling.
Fronted by the Leeds native, the pod will see the former I’m A Celebrity… contestant converse with a stellar line-up of guests from across sport and entertainment, delivering honest, witty, and insightful exchanges in a space that feels relaxed, warm, and revealing. Guests confirmed to appear so far include British track and field athlete Jazmin Sawyers, artistic gymnast and member of the British national team Alice Kinsella, England Rugby international and World Cup winner Jess Breach, and former Olympic snowboarder, broadcaster and presenter Jess Breach.
Speaking ahead of the first episode, Matty said: “The After-Dive is something I’m really proud of. I wanted to create a space where conversations feel open, relaxed and genuinely fun, where guests can be themselves and listeners get to hear a different side to them. I’ve loved the conversations we’ve had so far and I’m excited to keep building it.”
