Josh Gad’s mom is dealing with a “serious medical emergency”.
Frozen star Josh Gad
The 45-year-old actor has rushed back to the US to be with Susan after abandoning his trip to Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris for a preview of the World of Frozen land.
In a Facebook post on Thursday (12.03.26), Josh – who voices Olaf the snowman in the Disney family-musical film franchise – penned: “So truly heartbroken that I arrived today to take a tour and celebrate the new New World of Frozen at @disneylandparis this week and instead have to leave tomorrow morning (before I even have a chance to see any of it) to be with my mother who is unfortunately dealing with a serious medical emergency. (sic)”
The star will now have to wait until after World of Frozen opens on March 29 to get a proper look at it.
Josh continued: “Thank you to the entire staff of my beautiful hotel, and all of the people who organised this incredible event that will sadly have to wait for another day.
“What I can tell you all is that from what I have seen of this magical new land, Paris is about to have one of the most incredible and immersive experiences in any Disney park around the world.
“Book your tickets now and get ready for the spring opening as Anna, Elsa Olaf open up the gates. Good luck @natacharafalski and the entire team here in Paris. I look forward to coming back and seeing this magic with the masses! (sic)”
He then urged his fans to have Susan in their prayers.
Josh ended his post: “In the meantime, please keep my mom in your prayers. She needs all the good energy she can get.”
The Beauty and the Beast cast member did not reveal the exact details of his mom’s illness.
However, Josh’s supporters wished him and Susan well in the post’s comments section.
One user typed: “Family is so important. I lost my mum last year after a year of different illnesses.
“You only get one chance to spend time with your mum, whereas the Frozen land will be there for you to enjoy after you resolve this (hopefully short term) problem.and be there with your mum and help her through it.
“You’re doing the right thing. Hope she gets better soon. (sic)”
A second person wrote: “Sending love. Let’s get your mom back on track and then bring her along to see it when she’s able. (sic)”
And a third fan said: “Sending all my prayers and best of luck to your mother, Josh. Wishing her a speedy recovery. (sic)”
