The nominees for the 2026 Golden Globes are out and Wicked: For Good star Cynthia Erivo has become the first Black woman in history to be nominated for Best Actress… twice!

Cynthia is up against Rose Byrne, Kate Hudson, Chase Infiniti, Amanda Seyfried and Emma Stone in the Motion Picture Musical/Comedy category. Last year, she was nominated for her role in the first Wicked movie.

Taking to Instagram, she said, “This means so much to me. I don’t even know what to say…”

Wicked: For Good has received a total of 5 nominations this year. One Battle After Another leads the pack with 9 nominations followed by Sentimental Value with 8 and Sinners with 7.

Also making history is EJAE, one of the voices behind HUNTR/X in KPop Demon Hunters. The song “Golden” which is co-written by EJAE is nominated for Best Original Song, making her the first Korean American to be nominated in the category.

Plus we have a whole new category too – this year, the Globes have introduced a Best Podcast award!
