Right before their big win on Dancing With The Stars, Robert Irwin gave dance partner Witney Carson a handwritten note – and it’s heart-melting.
In a (now expired) post on her Instagram stories, Witney shared the note, with the caption “in case you needed another reason to love Robert Irwin.” Here’s what it said:
“I admire your courage as you balance a truly impressive work-load while being a fantastic mum, and your determination and kindness even under huge pressure is inspiring. You have taught me lessons that I’ll take with me for the rest of my life.”
Robert continued, “I feel blessed to know the Carson / McAllisters and while it is coming to an end, you’ve got me in your corner forever. We Irwin’s tend to stick around! Sorry bud, I’m hard to get rid of.”
He ended his message, “Always remember, when in doubt—send it.”

Robert and Witney won the coveted Mirrorball in the American version of Dancing With The Stars, beating influencer Alix Earle and her dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy in the finale.
The Irwins now have two Mirrorballs – ten years ago, Robert’s big sister Bindi Irwin won her Dancing With The Stars final too.
“TWO MIRRORBALLS NOW CALL AUSTRALIA ZOO HOME!!!!” Bindi posted. “Congratulations and all the love in the world to @robertirwinphotography and @witneycarson. What. A. Night.”
Mum Terri Irwin also shared her joy – “Congratulations Robert! Your passion, dedication, hard work, and kind heart got you to this point. A night you will remember forever. Thank you to everyone who supported Robert through this journey, and made us realise that even a zookeeper can learn to dance.”
She added, “Witney, you are now part of our family. God bless. I am so very proud of you, Robert. I know your dad is too. Wow!”
