Harrison Ford: Legendary actor still cracking jokes about accidentally punching Ryan Gosling

Harrison Ford is still cracking jokes about the time he accidentally punched his Blade Runner co-star, Ryan Gosling, in the face.

In an interview with Variety, Ford said he “apologised right away” after punching Gossling in the face during the filming of Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to Ford’s 1982 classic Blade Runner.

The pair have both discussed the incident in the past, with Ford joking about the jab in his most recent interview.

“[We were rehearsing a fight] and we got too close and I hit him,” Ford told Variety.

“I apologised right away. What more could I do? Can’t take back a punch. Just take it. He’s a very handsome man. He’s still very handsome.”

Gosling, 44, first revealed he had been hit in the face by Ford, 83, in a 2016 interview with GQ.

The actor said being punched by Ford was “a rite of passage,” with the Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve telling Gosling to “Look at it this way – you just got hit by Indiana Jones!”

“We were just doing a fight scene and, you know, it just happened,” Gosling said at the time.

“But what was funny was, when it was over, they brought ice for my face, and Harrison pushed me out of the way and stuck his fist in the ice.

“He came by afterward with this bottle of scotch, and I thought, ‘Oh, I knew this was coming.’ And he pulled out a glass from his pocket, poured me a glass, and walked away with the rest of the bottle.

“So I guess he felt like he didn’t connect enough to earn a whole bottle.”

The pair also joked about the interaction while they appeared on the Graham Norton Show together in 2020.

“You punched him,” Norton said to Ford.

“Oh, I misread the script,” Ford replied while laughing.

The pair said they must have done 100 takes, but he accidentally connected with Gosling’s face one time.
